OUR STORY

Spirit of he Grove was born from a simple truth: when we care for the land, we care for each other. Rooted in Shannon, North Carolina, we serve rural communities across the Carolinas - places rich in culture, but often overlooked in environmental investment.

Native Tree Planting & Habitat Restoration

Community restoration days

Overview: A 10-Session, hands-on environmental leadership program for rural youth.
What youth learn: Ecology, Climate resilience, forestry, environmental entrepreneurship.
Outcomes: Youth gain skills, confidence, and exposure to green career pathways.

Overview: Planting long leaf pine, dogwood, river birch, and other native species to restore degraded land.
Activities: Tree planting, invasive species removal, soil stabilization, pollinator habitat.
Partners: Landowners, schools, churches and local government.

Overview: Volunteer events where families, youth, and elders come together to care for the land.
Activities: Planting, clean up, trail work, and workshops.
Goal: Build pride, connection, and shared responsiblitity.

Overview: Hiring local workers as paid restoration staff.
Details: Fair wages, training in restoration techniques, safety, and stewardship.
