Section 1: Governing Law and Venue
These Terms and Conditions, your use of the website, and all interactions with Spirit of the Grove shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action, suit, or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms must be instituted exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Robeson County, North Carolina. You hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
Section 2: Donations and Tax-Exempt Disclosures

501(c)(3) Status: Spirit of the Grove is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please consult a qualified tax professional regarding your individual tax situation.

Parental Consent Required: Spirit of the Grove offers specialized youth programs. Online registration, application, or inquiry regarding these programs must be completed exclusively by a parent or legal guardian. Minors under the age of 18 are strictly prohibited from submitting personal information or registering themselves.

Children's Privacy: In alignment with the Federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Spirit of the Grove does not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal data from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal data without verified parental consent, we will delete that data immediately.
Section 4: Merchandise Sales, Pricing, and Fulfillment

Order Acceptance: The display of physical merchandise on the site represents an invitation to treat, not a legally binding offer. Spirit of the Grove reserves the right to refuse, limit, or cancel any merchandise order at our sole discretion due to inventory limitations, inaccuracies, or technical errors.

Risk of Loss: All physical merchandise purchased from the website is shipped pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass directly to you upon our delivery of the goods to the shipping carrier.

Section 5: Volunteer & Sponsor Application Disclaimer

No Guarantee of Acceptance: Submitting an online volunteer inquiry or corporate sponsorship application does not establish a contractual relationship or guarantee acceptance into our programs. Spirit of the Grove retains absolute discretion over volunteer vetting, background checks, and sponsor selections.

Employment Status: Participation as a volunteer does not create an employer-employee relationship, partnership, joint venture, or agency between you and Spirit of the Grove. Volunteers acknowledge that they perform services without promise or expectation of compensation, benefits, or future employment.
Green Roots Youth Academy
In‑School Terms & Conditions
For Parents & Guardians:
1. Participation Agreement
I understand that my child will participate in Green Roots Youth Academy activities during the school day, including indoor and outdoor learning experiences. My child will follow all instructions from Spirit of the Grove facilitators, teachers, and school staff.
2. Safety & Supervision
Spirit of the Grove works alongside school personnel to provide appropriate supervision. All activities follow school safety protocols, district guidelines, and staff‑approved procedures.
3. School Policies
My child will follow all school rules regarding behavior, dress code, technology use, and movement on campus. Spirit of the Grove programming always aligns with district policies and respects school authority.
4. Health & Wellness
Parents agree to provide accurate medical, allergy, and behavioral information. All medication administration follows school policy; Spirit of the Grove staff do not administer medication.
5. Attendance & Participation
Participation occurs during regular school hours. Absences follow school attendance procedures. Parents agree to notify the school of any changes affecting participation.
6. Outdoor Activity Expectations
Some lessons take place outdoors on school grounds. Parents agree to send children weather‑appropriate clothing and closed‑toe shoes on scheduled outdoor days.
7. Media & Photography
Media permissions follow school district guidelines. Parents may grant or decline permission for Spirit of the Grove to use photos or videos of their child for educational or promotional purposes.
8. Liability & Assumption of Risk
Outdoor learning involves natural risks (uneven ground, insects, weather). Spirit of the Grove and the school take reasonable precautions to ensure safety. Parents acknowledge these risks as part of environmental education.
9. Communication
Spirit of the Grove communicates through the school’s approved channels. Parents agree to maintain updated contact information and respond promptly to school or program messages.
10. Program Modifications
Activities may be adjusted due to weather, school scheduling, testing days, or safety considerations. Parents will be notified of any significant changes through school communication systems.
